A GUIDE TO CRYSTAL BOWLS
Understanding resonance, frequencies, musicality, and how to choose your instrument.
The world of crystal bowls and sound healing can feel overwhelming… especially with the endless opinions online around notes, chakras, tunings, frequencies, alchemy combinations, and “the perfect bowl.”
One of the most common questions I hear is:
“What is the difference between a crystal bowl from Amazon for $80 and one priced at $800?”
The answer goes far beyond appearance or branding.
Every crystal singing bowl is unique and sourced from the earth. Whether it is a white frosted quartz bowl or an alchemy bowl infused with precious minerals, each bowl carries its own resonance, structure, feel, and energetic quality.
Just like us, no two bowls are exactly the same.
This is why I encourage people to move beyond rigid ideas of “this note equals this chakra” or overly commercial labels and instead begin with resonance, listening, musicality, and connection.
A crystal bowl is not simply an object. It is an instrument, a relationship, and often a long-term companion in your practice.

White Frosted Bowls
White frosted bowls are foundational in my teachings and sound healing courses.
I often describe them as similar to white quartz crystal, a blank canvas carrying master teachings from the earth.
Their sound is pure, expansive, architectural, and highly versatile for meditation, sound journeys, musicality, and voice work.
They are often the perfect place to begin.
Alchemy Bowls
Alchemy bowls are infused with additional minerals, metals, and crystalline elements, creating more layered and atmospheric tonal qualities.
Rather than assigning rigid meanings to these bowls, I prefer a more collaborative and intuitive approach.
Each alchemy bowl carries a unique personality and energetic presence that reveals itself differently to each person.
Choosing a bowl is deeply intuitive.
Before focusing on rules, frequencies, or complicated charts, I encourage people to begin by listening.
Notice:
— how the bowl feels in your body
— what emotions or memories arise
— whether the sound creates spaciousness, grounding, softness, clarity, or expansion
— whether you feel drawn to return to it again and again
The bowl you are seeking is often also seeking you.
This relationship unfolds over time.
